My name is Tammy Richardson and like so many other women out there, I spent literally years trying desperately to conceive.. and in getting pregnant after miscarriage too!

I was 34 when I first started trying to have a baby. At first we just tried the ‘natural’ way because we never even entertained the idea that it wouldn’t be enough to get pregnant as I had always been healthy, and in baby terms I was still reasonably young. But after a year and a half of miscarriages and no success my husband and I soon realised that we were going to have to do something else in order for me to conceive.

The Inevitable Started To Happen

I wanted a baby so badly that by this stage I was starting to feel lost and desperate. Everything that was supposed to be spontaneous and fun now seemed to be mechanical.

I Tried IUIs (intrauterine insemination) But They Failed

After a friend of mine had her own baby years before with the help of an IUI I thought I would give that a go first.

Naturally it is the body’s own natural lubricant which is the best kind – so if you want to give those sperm the best chance they have, take it slow and work up your own lubricant. A good friend, who I’ll call Candy for the purposes of the article had PCOS from when she was just a child. Candy had PCOS without knowing it, and was only diagnosed when she was 17 and requested some tests from her doctor. She was most concerned that the condition would stop her from having children in later life, as her period had always been irregular. This condition is not always discovered. It is also not absolute that every woman will have problems getting pregnant with PCOS and will be unable to conceive – there are those who despite an irregular period are able to carry a baby to full term without problem.
